Module Summary:

This module is to introduce the two core types of research methods to the students in the field of education/business/management. It also explains the application of quantitative and qualitative research. You can gain knowledge on the key aspects of research design and inquiry in a professional way. Students will learn different data collecting methods as well as how to perform primary and secondary research for a range of management disciplines. In the last part of the learners will be able to make decisions using evidence. The decisions will be evaluated for hie future implications. This module will help students to differentiate between basic and applied research and the way each of them is conducted, reported. The course is also useful for a master’s dissertation and project.

Module Aims:

Through this course module, you will be able to

  • Learn the skills required to design a research proposal in the subject of education.
  • Learn about data gathering methodologies and quantitative and qualitative analysis approaches for educational research themes.
  • Gain practical expertise with a variety of quantitative and qualitative research tools and approaches.

This program teaches students about ethical educational research and enhances their methodological expertise, enabling them to construct effective research questions. Learners will also be able to locate and criticize literature relevant to those issues. It will be followed by the preparation of relevant research to address these issues. Students will also learn how to collect quantitative and qualitative data, analyze it using suitable approaches, and produce reports on empirical studies in APA format.

Module Outcomes:

The following student outcomes are expected from this module:

  • Practical experience in developing a study idea and ethics application.
  • Determine when and how to apply statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, t-tests, correlations, regression, and ANOVA.
  •  Conduct a theme analysis and create a structure.
  •  Explain the use of particular study approaches and analysis techniques, and comprehend the hypotheses that support them.
